~ Pray for the much needed rest and recuperation of staff, volunteers and students after a fulfilling school year.

Blessed is the Man

"Blessed is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down where the scornful gather. But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law he habitually meditates by day and night." Psalm 1:1-2

Prayer Requests:

~ The last day of school - something that has been longed for by students since the weather became warm in April - it is here at last! Now that we have reached this point, please pray for the girls on a regular basis this summer, praying that they will remember to follow the lead of the Holy Spirit each and every day; that they will spend time with God every morning as they begin their day; and that they will always remember how much He loves us and wants what is best for us.

Praise Reports:

~ Praise God for the results of our end-of-the-year survey with the girls:

Goals Reached: 6 out of the 11 girls who responded indicated they did reach their goals, and 4 of them said they reached some of them! This is awesome that they girls recognize they had goals, and better that they were striving to reach them!

Salvation / Growth: Out of the 19 girls that came through the program in the past year, 8 of the girls accepted the Lord as their Savior; and 8 of the girls had already been saved before coming here. All of the girls said their relationship with God has grown over the past year!

~ Praise God for all who have responded so beautifully to our recent request for assistance with our financial needs for this ministry. We are so blessed by your giving and continued support of this ministry, and pray that you will be blessed in return. Please continue to pray for the bills for the rest of the summer and for the completion of the kitchen renovation.

Compassion and Forgiveness

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

Praise Reports:

~ After an especially difficult week, one child wrote and spoke an apology. This child realized her behavior was unacceptable after speaking with an adult and venting. She wanted to express a sincere regret for acting poorly, especially with not having all the information. Forgiveness is a gift and it was showered upon this child. God is so good to allow us to be able to witness changes in these angels with newfound enlightenment!

~ For many of the girls' academic perseverance amidst the warm temperatures and the end of the school year. Praise God for their efforts to finish strong and use their gifts to complete the year positively.

~ For the continued faithfulness of the staff and the love they give to all of the girls.

Prayer Requests:

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful.” Psalm 139:14

~ Pray that the girls understand how fearfully and wonderfully made they are by God;

~ Pray for the patience of Job to finish the school year with the abundant love and joy that we receive through His grace.

~ Pray for the girls that need to attend summer school in order to continue with their academic progress, and please pray that they will make the right choice and attend with a willing heart.

~ Pray for all of the Agape girls, both in the program now and those that have gone through our program. We pray for their continued growth in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. Seeds have been planted and we ask that we trust that God has each child where they are to be.

~ Pray for the blessing of financial support necessary to continue with this ministry.

Be Kind and Compassionate

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32

~ Pray for everyone to have self-control in the rising temperatures.
~ Please pray for continued perseverance to finish the year strong in academic studies.

~ Pray for the girls to realize the importance of preparation and planning.
~ Pray for the girls to realize how important and priceless each Agape Angel is in Christ, and that all of us were created in His image with a purpose and plan for our lives.

~ Pray for interpersonal relationships.
~ Pray for students to realize the importance of their healing and education.
~ Pray for students to never give up!
~ Pray for students to put their hope in the Lord.

Praise Reports:

~ Praise God for all the food collected through a food drive, and donated by Christian Life Church this past weekend – God is so good!
~ Praise God for safe travel to the Milwaukee Women’s Correctional Institution last Friday for our educational field trip. We had an informative tour and heard three inmates describe why they were incarcerated. The women spoke of poor choices and answered questions from the Agape students. The girls were receptive to the women, were observant on the tour, and were respectful to the guards and staff. Our chaperones were awesome, and we thank God for the opportunity to see first hand what happens when poor choices are given consequences. We were also blessed with a lovely meal at the prison, and were able to speak with the administrator, Dr. McRae, about our program at Agape. He was impressed with our students, and joined us for lunch.

Life to the Full!

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10b

Prayer Requests:

~ Pray that the girls understand that God intends for us to have life to the full!
~ Please continue to pray for all of the girls at Agape to press in to their studies for two more weeks while working towards their individual goals so they end the year strong!
~ Please pray for the strength and endurance of the staff that we might reach the end of the year stronger than ever before; that we have a clear picture of ALL that He has been doing in and through each child’s life, as well as the staff’s maturing of faith and the ever-increasing blessings that come from obedience and faithfulness.
~ Please pray for our financial needs to be met as we come to the end of a school year wherein we have been able to minister to 20 girls throughout the year in the school and/or the home, and countless more in the community. It is hard to imagine what the lives of these girls would be like if they were not at Agape!

Praise Reports:

~ Praise God for one of our Agape Angels who announced in class that she is praying for God to help her forgive several people in her life – amazing! Praise Him for His patience and faithfulness, and also for the difference in this child as she ‘walks’ with Him through this life-changing process.
~ Praise God that one of our students is back after a lengthy absence. We ask for prayers on behalf of this precious child that she not lose hope in her future and the plans that God has for her.
~ Praise God for our stellar staff – we have amazing volunteers who faithfully dedicate their time for the girls each week. It’s truly a blessing to watch these relationships develop and the unique treasures taught by the staff. God is so good.

God of Hope

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

Prayer Requests:

~ Pray that the girls are filled with the joy and peace as they come to trust in Him!
~ Please pray for the girls and their sleeping difficulties. Several students are dealing with nightmares, and the interrupted sleep is taking a toll on their attentiveness during school. Pray that they are not confused; rather, that they go to God for their strength, their peace and their hope knowing He can do all things.
~ Pray for the strength of the staff to endure. The girls have been testing lots! Pray that we speak the truth in love, hold them accountable and love unconditionally. So many of the girls are dealing with authority issues and take any kind of encouragement as a personal attack. Pray that in love we can redirect their thoughts.
~ Pray that the girls realize that God sets people in authority to help, guide, lead, and direct. Authority is not to harm but to protect, encourage, guard, and lead in love.
~ Pray for our financial status at Agape, as our funds are depleted – we are going from week to week, trusting God to provide for ALL of our needs.

Praise Reports:
~ A new student has joined our family at Agape; Masha is making the adjustment quite quickly and works hard each day to complete goals.
~ One of our students is attending all day. This is a major blessing of trust and also a leap of faith for this precious child.
~ For all the food, prepared, donated and given in love to provide for our health and well-being.
~ For all the people entering Agape each day, that the ministry is made known throughout the area and the need for such a school as this.
~ For the gentleman that prays for Agape House each time he passes on Highway 14; the encouragement of knowing that people are praying for all of us is a blessing.
~ For perseverance to finish strong in the last month of school; several girls are reaching their goals and are encouraged by the progress being made. Setting goals each day and meeting them weekly is an eye-opening experience for many.
~ For the exercise equipment that has been donated for our use; this is great for the girls when the weather prevents us from going outside for our daily walk - praise God!!!!

Wish List:
Please continue providing these healthy snacks for the girls; they have been such a blessing!
~ Fresh Fruit
~ Fresh Vegetables
~ Snack Crackers, such as Cheese-Its, Wheat Thins, etc.
~ Almonds or other nuts (NO PEANUTS)
~ String Cheese
