WHAT A WEEK !

Last Friday, we celebrated Valentine's Day with an event that included gifts for the girls from Jesus, and a "spa day" provided by Sheila Osborne, a spa and relaxation specialist. This is her second year ministering to the Agape Girls and she has really blessed each of them.

At Thursday night worship, we had an awesome time of worship, culminating with two girls committing their lives to Christ. What was most exciting was that one of them was lead to the Lord by another Agape girl, who just gave her life to Christ back in October ! It is so exciting to see God moving mightily in these girls lives; seeing them ministering to each other.

So on Friday, we had a "Celebration" party to honor the two new creations in Christ !

And our teacher, Kelly, had to show the girls how it's done...old school ! : )

We are blown away by the power of our God to changes lives at Agape. We are excited to see what He is doing and we are honored to be called to share that work to the surrounding communities.

Today, we travelled to Calvary Community Church to share with the Prime Timers group there. What a wonderful and benevolent group of believers; they shared lunch with the girls, and then the girls shared testimonies and special music under the direction of the music pastor Tom Hilker. We were blessed by the company and the generosity of those who were there.

Prayer Requests: Good health for all of the girls (spiritual, emotional and physical)
Needs: Stamps, Photo Paper for occasional pictures we print out, Garbage Bags, Sanitary Products for the girls, and Toilet Paper
Also, please pray if the Lord would have you support Agape House financially. At this time of year, giving is typically lower and with the current economic climate we are also seeing a crunch.
If you would like a resource to share with individuals, we have a letter, called the Circle of Love which references the ministry here, and includes a testimony from a girl who lives in the home, and also includes a donation insert. You can contact the office at 262-275-6466 and we will send those out for you, or you can make arrangements to pick up copies of the mailing. BLESSINGS !

Immediate Needs for Agape

At this time of year, our donations fall to a lower level, but our expenses remain the same. Please prayerfully consider if you could provide any of the following:

Cheeses
Yogurt
Eggs
Milk
Arts and Crafts supplies of any kind
Toilet Paper
Paper Towel
Hand soap
Decaf coffee
Coffee creamer
2 clip on lamps for desks
$90 for Readmaster software
Antiobiotic ointment (Neosporin)
Bandaids
Pledge
6 copies of the book "The Shack" by William P. Young

Thank you for your faithfulness !

Also, please keep the School in your prayers. When new students are added to the classroom, it creates a range of different issues; please pray for these spiritual battles, for God to touch each girl as they find wholeness and healing in Him !

February 9th Update

As we begin our 3rd Quarter at Agape School, we would like to thank our faithful volunteer teachers for all they have done the 1st Semester:
*Health 1st Quarter – Pam Patterson for teaching Relationships/Values
*Health 2nd Quarter - Diane Purcell for teaching this class, and the Geneva Lake Women’s Association, who donated the curriculum for this segment of Health called Drug and Health Awareness. If you know members of this Association, please thank them for all of their efforts to raise the funds for this valuable curriculum which they have donated to Agape School.
*Gym 1st Quarter – Kelly taught volleyball, and was assisted by Angel Patterson and Leslie Kane at times.
*Gym 2nd Quarter – Leslie Kane instructed the girls in Dance, as well as a few other valuable physical education opportunities.
*Photography – Leslie Kane spent a great deal of time sharing and teaching the girls about a variety of aspects of photography, and she donated all of the materials for this class. It was quite a learning experience.
*Life Skills – Cooking by Sandy Heinitz is a favorite class with the girls, as that means there is always something good to eat! Sandy taught this class 1st Quarter, and donated everything the girls needed.
*Life Skills – Job Preparation Skills was taught by Mary Ann Kahl, and the girls were blessed with an assortment of supplies by Mary Ann to help them through this class. It was invaluable for them to have this time to learn about preparing for their future jobs. To wrap up the 9 weeks, Mary Ann arranged for a surprise trip to Sandy’s Upscale Consignment (Clothing and Accessories) in Walworth, where the girls were given their final exam for this class – they had to pick out and model an appropriate outfit to work in a business casual environment. In addition, Sandy donated $10 for the girls to go shopping! There were squeals of delight as they went out the door – that has to be a first time for such a final exam!

Not to be forgotten are those teachers who are continuing on into the next semester:
*Pastor Tom Hilker from Calvary Community Church is doing an awesome job of helping the girls progress with their musical skills. Watch for information about upcoming events!
*Dee McBride – Art and Water Aerobics (gym) – Dee is such a blessing to this ministry as she lovingly works with the girls each week on a variety of art experiences/projects. And now she has enthusiastically agreed to teach them water aerobics at The Abbey.

What a fabulous start to the school year; as always, it is amazing to watch the transformation God is working through these girls.
