Take Refuge in Him

Summer Office Hours for Agape House (Office in the School):
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or by appointment


“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one that takes refuge in Him.” Psalm 34:8

Prayer Requests:
~ Pray that the girls all know the goodness of the Lord, and how blessed they will be if they take refuge in Him.

~ Pray for the completion of the renovation of the Sanctuary , and volunteers to step up and meet our needs for this project, whether it be through donations or time.

~ Pray for continued financial support of this ministry.

~ Pray for the staff and volunteers to have a blessed and relaxing time off (or relaxed, yet progressive work time).

~ Pray that God will prepare the hearts of new students who will come to Agape in the Fall for the 2010-2011 school year that they will be comforted by the hope of this new experience.

~ Pray that those whom God has called to complete our staffing for the Fall will respond to His call.

~ Pray for the girls who have completed the program at Agape, and are going forward with other plans this Summer. Pray that they will continue to trust in Him, and know that He is with them every step of the way on their journey.

~ Pray that the girls have a blessed summer break!

Praise Reports:
~ Praise God for the work that the girls who attended summer school accomplished; today was the last day.
~ Praise God for a relaxed atmosphere in school this week, and time for bonding.
~ Praise God for our faithful volunteers who helped us throughout the month of June in so many ways.
~ Praise God for donations from the Vacation Bible School of First Presbyterian Church in Harvard; the children collected monetary donations, as well as healthy snacks and personnel items for the girls!
~ Praise God for those who continue to work on the renovation project, giving so generously of their ‘summer’ time!
~ Praise God for the donation of a homemade book shelf for the classroom that makes maneuvering in there easier, while adding storage space (thank you Joe)!
~ Praise God for all the beautiful quilts donated for the Home by theLuther Memorial Quilters!

Ways to Help at this time:

~ We’re looking for a couple of dehumidifiers for different parts of the buildings.

~ Renovation Work
Sanding and refinishing of the stairs up to the Sanctuary (living quarters)
Help install tile on kitchen floor (also need funding to purchase tile)
Rebuild outside stairs to Sanctuary (also need materials purchased)

~ School or Home
Deep cleaning in July or August

~ Renovation Donations Needed
Commercial Appliances for the kitchen: range; dishwasher; and refrigerator
Kitchen Countertop
Kitchen Cabinets – This prayer may have been answered; we are following up!

Wish List:
~ Chair mat for office about 48 inches by 60 inches.

~ Donations of the following two books for our students to read:
- Facing Codependence by Pia Melody
- Codependent No More by Melody Beattie

~ Hooks that go over a door with four (4) hooks to hold towels – we could use six (6) of these for the dorm rooms.
