January 29th Update

The following pictures are from a field trip the girls took to Sandy's Second Impression in Walworth. The first photo is of the owner, Sandy.

They were asked to pick out an outfit that would be considered business-like that they would wear on an interview; after they received approval they were then given money to purchase clothes they would like. Thanks to Sandy, the owner and to Mary Ann Kahl for providing the funds for the girls to purchase clothes. As you can see from the photos, they did an outstanding job and had much fun !

Also, the Agape School is looking for sponsorship for school spirit sweatshirts for the girls with our new mascot (Agape Angels) on it. The cost is $20 each, and we're looking for support for 5 or 6 for girls who cannot afford them. Thank you. Thank you to the following individuals who answered the call for classroom help and are now volunteering:
Marshanell Ferguson
Deb Chrapkiewicz
Danielle Clark
Sarah McGuinn
Virginia Hawkes
The following is a list of needs for the school:
Toilet paper
Paper Towels
Kleenex
Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of Agape House !

Princess Banquet

Today we held a Princess Banquet for the girls. Each girl was allowed to go to the Transitional Home and pick out a formal from the collection we have acquired through the years. They were each given a princess tiara, a personalized letter with scripture references to their position as "daughters of the King" and many treats !

I've included photos of each girl, so that you can see the beauty of Christ as it shines through them !! We are so blessed to have many wonderful volunteers and staff, such as Sharlene Schultz who decorated with a beautiful snowflake and princess theme, and Becky Lambiris and Tina Galanes who made the beautiful finger sandwiches, and Jan Baker who wrote the princess letters.

Many of these girls are dealing with deep hurts and painful issues; it was such a miracle to see them transformed into "princesses" and just glow and radiate the beauty of Christ !

We also have an URGENT need to tutors to come in the mornings and volunteer in the school; as well as a classroom assistant on Wednesday. We would also welcome anyone who would want to come on Friday evenings and lead worship for the girls in the home at 7 pm. Please contact the office at 262-275-6466. Thanks !
WE ALSO HAVE AN OLDER UPRIGHT PIANO TO GIVE AWAY AND WE ARE NEED OF SOMEONE TO COME IN AND TUNE OUR PIANO. THANKS !

New Year...New birth....

We are excited to announce the arrival of Pam's sixth grand-child, Kaylie Lauren Patterson on December 31st. How awesome to see the evidence of new life...and how awesome it is when we see that same evidence of New Life manifesting in the lives of the girls at Agape.
We now have 11 students, with 6 girls living in the Teen Home. We have a couple more girls in the interview process. Please keep us in your prayers for wisdom to know how to transition, as new girls come into the home. Also, keep the girls from the transitional ministry in your prayers; as well as the individuals and families that we are counseling.
Thank you to ALL of you for your prayer and support throughout 2008. As we look to the new year, we are confident in our God, who is Sovereign over this economy and any other. He so graciously and faithfully provided (through many of you) for us these last 10 years. We are excited to see what He has in store, as we look to the future.
Blessings !
Agape Staff
