Freedom, Courage and Faith

As we honor our veterans this week, we give praise to God for all who have given so much for the freedom we have in this country, and continue to pray that we continue as “one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”.

“Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.” ~ Deuteronomy 31:6


Prayer Requests:
~ Pray for our Agape Angels to be strong, courageous and firm as they seek the freedom we have been offered through the gift of salvation from Jesus Christ, and that they are able to walk out their lives as an example of Christianity so that others desire to have the same freedom.

~ for several of our volunteers, and/or their families, who are in need of God’s healing, strength and comfort for a variety of reasons.

~ for Agape House and the many repairs that seem to be needed, that we will have wisdom and discernment as to exactly how to go about completing the task in an efficient and cost effective manner.

Praise Reports:
~ For the maturity we are seeing in the girls as they choose to make positive changes in their lives, and be encouraging for the other girls.

~ That the student who was out last week for testing was able to return to our program this week.

~ For new learning skills in the classroom!

~ For the donation of 15 thumb drives for the girls to use in their computer class!

~ For the donation of food leftover from an anniversary celebration over the weekend – lots of goodies to nourish the girls!

~ For the donation of an extra (old) card table for use in Art class!

~ For new volunteers willing to do whatever needs to be done!

~ That the first computer classes this week went quite well!

Ham and Turkey lunch meat

Wish List:
Mini Van (used and in good shape) - free or very good price
Gas Cards to take the girls to various events in the van
Gift cards for the girls to be able to go to Starbucks, bowling, a movie, or Subway


Ways to Help at this time:
~ Speech teacher to help one of our girls with IEP; about 40 minutes a week.

~ Tutors for afternoons and Friday morning.

~ Volunteer to repair stained glass.

~ Sponsor a girl here; we have several girls that come from single parent families that have no money.

~ Provide finances to expand our counseling program. Our goal for 2011 is to open a Christian Biblical-based counseling center that operates on a sliding fee so no one is turned away because of finances. We are looking at renting some space close by so we can have more offices and praying for the funding for the rent and to pay the counselor’s

Bring in your Campbell’s labels and Box Tops for Education - ask family and friends to help as well.
