Which Way do I Go?

FOOD NEEDED:
~ Pray for food donations to come in as we prepare to open the Home for all the girls moving in starting on Sunday, the 28th of August. We’ll need fresh produce, dairy products and meat (lunchmeat, chicken and beef). See more details below.

Which Way do I Go?
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

Prayer Requests:
~ As we begin a new school year next Wednesday, pray that our Agape Angels learn that God promises to use His Word to instruct each one of us in the way we are to go, one step at a time. They no longer have to wander in the dark.

~ Pray for the spirits of each of the girls preparing to come to Agape Home and School to be touched with a sense of peace and comfort so that they know without a doubt this is where they are meant to be. Please also pray that they see this as a privilege to take part in this program (and not as a punishment).

~ Pray for peace for the staff as we prepare to start the new year with more new girls at one time then we have ever had before.

~ Pray for supernatural learning for the staff with regard to the needs of each one of our new girls, and wisdom as to how to meet those needs on a daily basis.

~ DO YOU LOVE SPORTS AND KIDS? If so, we are looking for a few volunteers who will each teach a 6- to 9-week session of PE for our girls on Monday afternoon from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m. We already have one person to oversee the program; we just need others to take a turn and come along side with your talents. Contact Jan at 262-275-6466.

Praise Reports:
~ For the donation of items on our Wish List: Stuffed Animals, Copy Paper, Colored Markers, Highlighters, School Supplies and Gift Cards

~ For the donation of carpet cleaning services in the dorms by Master’s Cleaning Specialists.

~ For the donation of more angels to give out to our new students (they were found at a rummage sale)!

~ For the donation of stuffed animals to give to all of the girls moving into the Home this weekend.

~ For all the work done by families and volunteers this last week to clean, etc. in preparation for a fresh start next week.

~ For the donation of pork from Sorg’s.

Items Needed:
Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Healthy Snacks, i.e., almonds, peanuts, dried fruit, granola bars
Lunch meat
Cheese (cream, slices, string and shredded)
Yogurt
Milk (1% please)
Chicken
Beef
Stamps
Thank You / Note Cards
Folders

Wish List:
Illustrated Anatomy and Physiology Book
Scrapbook Albums
Mini Van (used and in good shape) - free or very good price
Gas Cards to take the girls to various events in the van
Gift cards for the girls to be able to go to Starbucks, bowling, a movie, or Subway

Ways to Help at this time:
~ Volunteer who would be able to teach the girls how to use Microsoft Office software, with the goal of earning a full credit for the class.

~ Volunteer to weed and maintain our gardens in front of the school. We’ll need someone to thin the plants out this Fall, and give them some tender loving care throughout the season.

~ Volunteer to repair stained glass.

~ Sponsor a girl here; we have several girls that come from single parent families that have no money.

~ Provide finances to expand our counseling program. Our goal for 2011 is to open a Christian Biblical-based counseling center that operates on a sliding fee so no one is turned away because of finances. We are looking at renting some space close by so we can have more offices and praying for the funding for the rent and to pay the counselor’s.

Bring in your Campbell’s labels and Box Tops for Education - ask family and friends to help as well.

Depending on Him

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty.” ~ Psalm 91:1

Prayer Requests:
~ Pray for our girls (and their families) to understand that God wants us to depend on Him, He wants to fight for us, He wants to work on our behalf, as we rest in the shadow of His Almighty Presence. And knowing this, the girls will be strengthened to go forth each and every day.

~ Pray for the new girls moving into the Home on the 28th, and for the girls returning from last year who will move in on the 30th, that they will know God’s peace and comfort as they make this adjustment in their lives.

STUFFED ANIMALS NEEDED: To help with this adjustment, we would love for each of the girls in the Home to have a stuffed animal (like new). IF you have any small- to medium-sized stuffed animals in excellent condition (like new) that you would be willing to donate, that would be wonderful! If possible, you can drop them off at the school next week, Monday through Friday.

FOOD NEEDED:
~ Pray for food donations to come in as we prepare to open the Home for all the girls moving in starting on Sunday, the 28th of August. We’ll need fresh produce, dairy products and meat (lunchmeat, chicken and beef). See more details below.

~ VOLUNTEER NEEDED TO TEACH PE: Pray for our PE program. We are in need of people who are willing to teach a variety of 6- to 9-week sessions of PE throughout the year for our girls on Monday afternoon from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m. We already have one person, so if you know someone who is gifted in a particular sport, and available at this time on a weekly basis, we would love to talk to them to see if they can help in this area. Contact Jan at 262-275-6466.

~ Pray for the families (and girls) who are still deciding whether or not to come to Agape School; pray that they will have peace regarding their decision. We have a few girls we had hoped would return, and are concerned that they are not returning (as of this date). We know the seeds have been planted, and they will be watered in due time; but we also know that one more year here could make a big difference in the lives of these girls.

Praise Reports:
~ For the wonderful response to our request for the young lady in need of dental work. The appointment has been set for the work to begin next week (please pray for her to know God’s healing powers are already at work).

~ For the volunteers who helped stuff and label newsletters for our quarterly mailing.

~ For all of you who contributed to make our staff retreat this week more enjoyable by making a meal, doing a devotional, or giving a boat ride.

~ For the joy of staff gathering together for our retreat to plan and prepare for the new school year. It went very well, and we even found some time to fellowship and enjoy a boat ride on Lauderdale Lakes!

Forgive Freely

“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” ~ Colossians 3:13

Prayer Requests:
~ Pray for the girls to understand that the burden of unforgiveness is too heavy to carry (like carrying a dead body on our backs), and thus, it is better to forgive and let God carry the burden.

~ For the staff working yet this month to get everything done that needs to be done, pray that we maintain peace and calm, knowing God will direct our path each and every moment of the day, and that we will be refreshed when the new school year begins!

~ For our House Mom who recently injured her arm, that it will heal quickly as she prepares to welcome 10 to 12 girls to the Home on August 28th!
