Update on the twins

An update from "PaPa Ben":

The twins are doing remarkable. God is so good both are off the IV’s and air tubes; they are both able to pick up there heads and move around, so it’s been a great opportunity to witness to the nurses in the room that are taking care of them. Is God good or what? Feedings have increased from 3 ml to 5ml a feeding; that’s great progress from two days old.

Please keep praying. They are not out of the woods yet and Sue and Andre will need your continued prayers because the twins will be in the hospital for about another six weeks. That’s a lot of traveling and stress on Sue, Andre, Alyric, and Andre III.

Holiday update:

Some of you have asked about giving gifts and designating them for loved ones. We can provide you with a card to commemorate either of those. Also, if any of you know someone who is 70 1/2 or older (parents, grandparents, etc.) who would like to donate to Agape House. There is a recently enacted law that has extended the ability to make a direct transfer of up to $100,000 from an IRA to a non-profit without having to count those contributions as taxable income.

Please keep us in your prayers and that we would all trust God and His economy and not look to what the world is saying about our finances. Thank you for all of you who faithfully trust Him !

Celebrating a Christmas miracle !

We are excited to announce the birth of two Christmas miracles. Many of you were blessed at the 10th Anniversary by the testimony of Pam's oldest daughter Susan (one of her first foster children) who shared how she and her husband Andre had lost a child over a year ago, during her fifth month of pregnancy. She shared how she was now pregnant with twins, a boy and a girl.

Susan went into early labor last night and delivered two miracles. 3 lb. 5 oz. Alyric and 3 lb. 4 oz. Andre came into the world and doing remarkably well. They are breathing on their own with oxygen being blown on them in their incubators ! Praise God ! Please keep them and Susan and Andre in your prayers as the babies will remain in the hospital for the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Please keep all of our staff in your prayers, as well as the students.

We do have a need for a person or persons who would be willing to come after school and teach piano, violin, guitar, and art. Preferably on a volunteer basis. Contact the office at 262-275-6466 if you are available.

We also want to let you know we have donation cards available in the office, if you would like a way to suggest to friends and/or family that they make a donation to Agape House, in lieu of a gift during the Holiday Season. There are also cards available to let your loved ones know that you have given a donation to Agape House, as a Christmas gift, in honor of them.

Thank you for your support of the ministries of Agape House.

Holiday Happenings

I love this photo I found on the web. What an awesome representation of the birth of a child, Jesus - who is the Light of the world !
Thank you for your faithfulness in prayers and support.

School prayer requests:

We are looking for people who can help with this between 8 and 10 a.m. They would listen to the students read for 15 to 30 minutes per child, ask questions to make sure they are understanding what they are reading; correct them as necessary, etc. We also will want some people who can oversee their Readmaster program on the computer.

We have welcomed our 10th student to Agape School; and we now have five girls residing in the dorm. Thank you to those have contacted us asking to help out for the holidays. We do have wish lists for the School, the Teen Home, and the Transitional Home, as well as a list of food items, for those of you who participate in food drives.

This year, we were again blessed by WSLD, Kunes Country Ford, and the Generac Corp. in their "Freein' for Food" drive. We also received a donation of beef from an individual who attended the Jazz Event hosted by the Lewis family in Fontana.

We are so blessed, as many of you are ministering out of your need, and trusting God and His economy. Those who give generously at this time of year enable us not only bless the girls for Christmas, but to meet our monthly expenses and payroll; which includes those winter heat bills ! God is so good. : )

It is truly a pleasure to hear from those of you who call, and also those of you who stop at the Home. It is a blessing to see God drawing from all areas of Walworth County, to be a part of the ministry of Agape House. If your church, civic group, or organization isn't already involved and you would like to be, please contact us at the office 262-275-6466. There are many ways to be a blessing to the ministries of Agape House ! Our biggest areas of ministry are the Agape School for Girls and the Teen Home, but we are also still ministering through the Transitional Living Home, our Mentoring Program, our Counseling Program, our bible studies and through weekly prayer. We also financial counseling and a support group for parents. YOU are a vital part of those ministries through your prayer and financial giving.

God bless !

December 1st already !

Wow...this year has certainly flown by ! We are grateful now for heat in the gym, the heating system is installed and running. Please remember us during the holiday season; not only in giving of gifts for the girls, but in general funds, our heating costs are substantial !

We have an immediate prayer request for you. One of our former "Agape girls" Kayte Musselman has been serving as a missionary in Thailand. She and her husband Ben and their daughter Darcy are set to fly home from Bangkok on Thursday. Currently the political unrest in that country is such that the road to the airport is closed. Please pray that they are able to get on the plane and get out of the country and safely back home to the United States.

We welcome a new student today, bringing our total to 10, with 5 girls living in the home. There are more in the application process.

Thank you to all of you whom have faithfully prayed for us this last year, your prayers have certainly been effective. God bless !
